Third Friday Concerts at FPC
First Presbyterian Church will participate in Durham’s downtown Third Friday activities with a series of summer concerts. The first on May 20 at 7 PM features the original songs of acoustic rock duo Sad Magazine. Andrew Snee (from the Durham band Sea Cow) and Jeff Hart (Jeff Hart and the Ruins) play music that recalls a three-way collision of Elvis Costello, Neil Young, and Richard Thompson: equal parts plaintive lyricism and guitar dynamics.
Future concerts will feature J. Kutchma on June 17, Jon Shainon July 15 and Bibis Ellison on August 19. All concerts are free and open to the public. Come check out all these local artists performing in the sanctuary’s intimate atmosphere with unparalleled acoustics.
