First Presbyterian is a Collection Site


The 2014 School Supplies Drive has begun. Through August 14, members and friends of FPC may “fill those bins” placed in the church foyer with school supplies, courtesy of the Southwest Durham Rotary Club. Last summer we filled several bins. Let’s beat that record this summer!

Ready for a Break?
August 29-31, 2014 (Fri-Sun of Labor Day Weekend)
Spend the weekend relaxing beside the sound at Camp Don Lee with church friends; where fellowship, worship, meaningful conversations, good food, kayaking, hiking, a campfire and plenty of porch sitting will be the only “labor” expected!

“Songs of the Civil War”


Vox Virorum Men’s Chorus
Sunday, May 17 at 3:00 p.m. in the FPC sanctuary
Concert is free and open to the public.
To mark the Sesquicentennial of the Civil War, Vox Virorum presents a program of music that looks into the human condition in this momentous era. Featured works include “Battle Hymn of the Republic,” “There is a Balm in Gilead,” “The Battle Cry of Freedom,” “Nearer My God to Thee,” and “Go Down, Moses.”
Spring Choral Concert


On Saturday, May 3 at 3:00 pm, the combined choirs from Watts Street Baptist Church and FPC will present a Spring Choral Concert at FPC featuring Vivaldi’s Gloria that will also include soloists and orchestra. There will also be anthems by Manz, Mozart, Rutter, Courtney, and Dawson. The concert is free and open to the public.

Sunday, April 5 – Easter, Resurrection of the Lord
9:00 a.m. Holy Communion (Memorial Garden)
9:45 a.m. Sunday School
11:00 a.m. Worship Service with Holy Communion
The One Great Hour of Sharing Offering will be received during worship. Your generous gifts to this special offering help provide relief to those affected by natural disasters, provide food to the hungry, and assist in helping to empower the poor and oppressed. Following the worship service, donors may take Easter lilies and share them with loved ones.
