Serve the World
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself. Luke 10:27
Presbyterian Disaster Assistance Program
PDA coordinates the Presbyterian Church’s responses to national and international disasters. First Presbyterian Durham has sent a number of disaster response teams to help with recovery efforts after hurricane flooding. Whenever possible, these teams work under the auspices of PDA. The church supports PDA financially through its annual One Great Hour of Sharing offering. Individual members are invited to support PDA in response to current disasters.

Respond to specific disasters
Members are invited to support Presbyterian Disaster Assistance in response to specific current situations. Offerings to First Presbyterian, Durham, may be designated for PDA, naming the crisis. Or, give online to Presbyerian Disaster Assistance.
Youth Mission Trips
The youth of the church work with the Youth Minister and dedicated adult leaders to identify, plan and carry out missions of service. They have served communities in Appalachia and have gleaned crops from harvested fields. Older youth have participated in PDA sponsored disaster response teams from the church.
