Join with other members of FPC for an INSIDE WORK DAY at FPC this Saturday, July 22.  We’ll meet at 8:00 a.m. and finish up around 12 noon.  Contact Chris Brown (email: [email protected]) to see if your favorite “indoor” work day task is on the list!  REMEMBER: Many hands make light the work!

FPC is hosting the July meeting of the Durham Branch NAACP on Sunday, July 23 at 4:00 p.m.  This is their regular monthly General Body meeting which is open to members and friends of the NAACP.   Come learn more about issues impacting all of us here in Durham and around the our nation!

The North Carolina Boys Choir will present their Spring Concert at First Presbyterian Church on Sunday, June 4 at 5:00 p.m. in the sanctuary.  The choir was founded 45 years ago at First Presbyterian by Bill Graham and is glad to return home for this event.  Currently led by Robert Unger and David Cole, the treble-voiced boys in the concert choir are augmented by a chamber choir of several fathers and alumni singing tenor and bass on a number of selections.  A girls’ ensemble Prima will also participate, along with the training choir.  The program will consist of classical, folk, and patriotic selections, with some audience participation.  Composers include Casals, Faure’, Parry, and Purcell.  Admission is free but donations are welcome. 

June 4 is a day of celebration.  During the 11:00 a.m. worship, we will acknowledge our Class of 2017 high school  and college graduates.  We will also ordain and install new officers.  All are welcome.

We are entering a season of Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, graduations and weddings, when not everyone is able to celebrate. We will pause for reflection and prayer in the beautiful outdoor setting of FPC’s Memorial Garden (weather permitting).  Guests are welcome, as are children, as we celebrate God’s presence and love at all times of our lives.  

Sunday, May 14 – Don’t let mom cook on Mother’s Day!  Don’t make mom stand in a long restaurant line!

Instead, bring her to the Annual Mother’s Day Luncheon following worship.

Make a reservation for your family by calling the church office: 919-682-5511 or complete a reservation card found in the worship bulletin. Donations will be received to offset meal costs.
